Summer Is Here!

Finally, summer is here and it’s gorgeous at the Lake. According to the Corps, the Lake is clearer than it has been in 50 years! The sun is shining, we’ve in the pool and hot tub and the fish are biting like crazy. I just wanted everyone to know that we have an unusual circumstance this year – we just happen to have two 2-room cabins open for the week of 4th of July – from June 29 to July 8. We also still have some cabins available for the first part of June and some for after August 17. If you are interested, give me a call – hope to see you here this summer.

We’re back and open!

Thanks to everyone for your patience while we were on our winter break. We had a very good, restful time and are ready to get back to work! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, too. I wanted to thank Cheryl for sending us this great photo from her visit here last fall.

We discovered that we were unable to retrieve our email from many places and although I tried to catch up, I may have missed a few. If you sent us an email and we haven’t replied, please give us a call or resend that email. Also, if you haven’t sent in your deposit yet, give me a call to let me know if you still want your cabin.

The Lake is in great shape and fishing should be wonderful this spring. Long range forecasts look sunny and warmer than usual, so come on down for spring break, Easter or anytime to fish and enjoy our beautiful Lake.

Thank You! 2012

Greetings!  Thank you to everyone who came to visit Happy Hollow this year.  What a busy and fun year we had!  We opened the new pool and hot tub; upgraded bed and kitchen linens; replaced all the hide-a-bed couches; put a new king-sized bed in the Studio and Country Cottage; built a new deck on our house; replaced the engine on one pontoon and rebuilt the floor on the other one; Ed is busy now  remodeling Cabin #3 which will be an ADA approved cabin with new tile, a wider bathroom door and a walk-in shower (sorry, no bathtub!) with an exterior ramp available; AND Sadie had 11 adorable Labrador Retriever puppies!  Whew!  We are taking a much needed break over the holidays to visit family and friends.  If you already have your reservations for 2013, you should receive a Confirmation in the mail soon.  Just send in your deposit in January to secure your reservation.  If you don’t have reservations for 2013 yet, give us a call or email to check on availability.  We will open up again in February, 2013.  Have a safe and happy holiday – we hope to see everyone again next year.

We’ll post more on Facebook – just check out Happy Hollow Resort on Facebook and check out all the photos and comments from our guests. The new pool has been getting lots of use during this hot, dry summer and everyone seems to love it! Come and see us soon!

Summer Fun

Another summer is well under way at Happy Hollow – are we ever having fun! The kids and adults alike are enjoying the
pool and spa as well as the lake, of course. I love this picture of my great-nephew playing in the fountains at the pool. We put up some sun canopies, but make sure you bring lots of sunscreen!

We appreciate all the comments and suggestions we receive from our guests that let us know what we can do to make Happy Hollow an even better place to visit.

So far, we replaced all the old sleeper sofas with new ones in all cabins; replaced many of the end tables with hand-crafted Cedar tables; replaced Queen-sized beds with new King-size beds in the Studio and the Country Cottage; added new shelving units and upgraded all the bed linens and spreads. We have two of the Happy Hollow Glider/Rockers that Ed built on each front porch. They have been a big hit – it’s so relaxing to just sit on the porch and look out at the lake (we even saw a few people napping!).

We have made 3 trips to the Ozark Food Pantry and are still collecting canned goods, baby formula, diapers and other non-perishable goods. Thank you for all your support!

Give us a call to make your reservations for fall – hope we will see you here soon.

Friends at Happy Hollow

Friends at Happy Hollow

The season is officially open – the sun is bright, the lake is at normal level and the fish are biting! We only have a couple of openings left for the summer season, so if you haven’t made your reservations yet – give me a call. Our hot tub and pool will be open into the fall this year since we can heat them both.

We are getting off to a great start this year with friends and relatives visiting. We are grateful that the weather has been wonderful and the water is warm enough to jump off the end of the dock with Sadie and swim in the lake, float around in the new pool or relax in the hot tub spa with our fellow guests. Most of the attractions in Branson have recuperated after the Leap Day Tornado and there are many new and exciting shows open in Branson and of course, activities at Silver Dollar are in full swing. Come and see us for a fun and relaxing time!

Finally! The Pool and Spa Hot Tub are open!

We are ready for another great season at Happy Hollow Resort.

Here is a picture of me checking out the pool with our great-niece who spent spring break with us from California, Cierra. Her brother Mason started us off by catching nine fish from our dock. Many of our regulars have returned and they are having fantastic results fishing for bass as well as crappie and catfish. Thanks to our guests who recently shared their crappie with us – it was delicious! We are already having great fun. Don’t forget to enter our Big Bass Contest when you arrive. Check out more pictures of the pool and grounds on Facebook and Trip Advisor. See you here soon!

Progress on the Pool and Spa

Progress on the Pool and Spa

Here’s a picture that I took last week from the roof of Cabin #5 looking toward the Loft Cottage. We’ve been working all winter to get ready to open and we are ready for you – our guests! Spring is a great time of year for fishing at Table Rock Lake and the weather has been fabulous this year. Our contractor assures us that our beautiful pool will be open for business by the first of April. If you don’t already have your reservations made, give us a call or click on the “Contact us” button to send us an email. See you soon at Happy Hollow!

See you next year!

Happy Hollow - Sunset on the Dock

Have a happy and safe holiday season… See you next year!

God Bless and Keep You!

During this special time of year, we want to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal guests who stayed with us this year and those who will be coming back in 2012. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday – see you in 2012!

Canned and Non-Perishable Food Drive – We know that we’ve been blessed with Happy Hollow and for getting to know each and every one of you. We want to share this blessing with the local community and those who are less fortunate. We’ve decided to work with our local food pantry in 2012. So, when you come down this year, how about bringing an extra can of food or non-perishable item such as flour, rice, powdered milk, or powdered baby formula?

We will match each can or food item and donate it to the food pantry. We are starting this immediately, so if you are coming down this winter and can bring a donation – we’ll see that it gets to those who need it most. But let’s not stop there. There is a need all year long– not just during the holidays. Help us make a difference!

Aluminum Can Recycling – As many of you know, there currently is no recycling pick-up service available at the resort. But we are not giving up in our effort. We will provide large containers throughout the resort to collect aluminum cans and take them to the recycling center ourselves. Please look for these containers and place your aluminum
cans in them instead of the trash cans.

Swimming Pool and Hot Tub Spa – Construction of the new pool and hot tub spa is coming along very nicely. We are assured that it will be ready for occupancy in early spring. I can’t wait!

Big Bass Fish Tournament – Once again, we are planning a Spring Tournament, scheduled from March 18 thru May 25, 2012. We will collect an entry fee of $10 per person which will be put into a pot and divided into 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Good luck to all!

2012 Deposit – If you’ve already made your reservation for 2012, you should have already received a Reservation Confirmation. Please make sure we receive your deposit by January 15, 2012. If you haven’t already made your reservation, give us a call today or use the “Contact Us” on our website to request a reservation.

Greetings !!

Fall at Happy Hollow

to everyone from beautiful Happy Hollow Resort! What a wonderful time of year – check out more of the pictures of fall colors on our Facebook page. The sun is shining brightly making the lake shimmer in the light breeze. The mist slowly rises like puffs of steam and the bright oranges, reds, yellows and gold on the hillsides are absolutely stunning. The drive along Hwy 86, Ozark Hollow and Happy Hollow Road is the prettiest I’ve ever seen. One of our frequent guests said his coffee tastes even better than normal out of his Happy Hollow mug and with this view from the cabin porch I understand what he means!

Like most of you, the theatres and attractions all around Branson are getting ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. A few of the many, many events happening across the Ozarks include the Trail of Lights at Shepard of the Hills, the Holiday Light Parade and Living Nativity are ongoing at Silver Dollar City, not to mention the great sales at the Outlet and Craft Malls.
Construction on the swimming pool is proceeding nicely. You can really see the shape of the new pool and hot tub. One of our guests brought us a huge plate of fried catfish and said the fishing is getting better now that the weather is cooler. We will be closed Monday thru Sunday over Thanksgiving (11/21 thru 11/26. Other than those dates, we will be open until Christmas. We have cabins available – so come down to spend some time this fall at Happy Hollow Resort. Hope to see you here!
